DUBAI: Turkey’s Ministry of Interior eased COVID-19 regulations for individuals over 65 and under 25 years and those with chronic illnesses, Turkish English daily Hurriyet Daily News reported.

People over 65 years old will be allowed to leave their homes on May 10 between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. , as long as they wear masks and remain a walking distance away.

Meanwhile, children below 14 years will be allowed outside on May 13 and 15 to 20-year olds on May 15, during the same hours and conditions as stated for the elderly.

Individuals over the age of 65 have been at home since March 21, while those under 20 since April 3.

The regulations were set in place to curb the spread of coronavirus, as the country has reported 133,721 cases, 82,984 recoveries and 3,641 fatalities.

The ministry also said flower shops would be delivering orders despite the weekend curfew to mark Mother’s Day on Sunday, May 10.
